MFL Careers

MFL Careers approached Visua in late 2012 to develop an online presence for their newly formed career development consultancy, based in Melbourne. Our initial discussions centred around the importance of developing a brand identity that would help set the stage for the look and feel of the future website. The identity and subsequent stationery marks a vast point of difference to the more cliché imagery typically employed by the career development industry such as, pathways, ladders or puzzle pieces. The use of simple, bold, clean typography projects a contemporary face to the business. The MFL Careers website closely mirrors the new identity and even integrates it into the menu system.

Steven Domoney Architecture

The Steve Domoney Architecture website is quite easily the most complex coding project we’ve ever handled. Based on a rigid grid format, the website is a marvel of mathematics. Extensive back-end coding detects the dimensions of the viewers computer screen or tablet device and calculates the perfect placement and alignment of images. Proprietary technologies scale and optimise images through the Content Management System (CMS), simplifying and streamlining client project updates. The website also employees touch gesture technology to cater for touch-screen devices.

Taylor Reynolds

Taylor Reynolds are specialists in multi-residential development and design services. Based in amongst the side streets of Fitzroy, Taylor Reynolds’ new identity and website draws its inspiration from Fitzroy’s gritty urban environs, the juxtaposition of business, fringe and cafe cultures and the tapestry of advertising, street stencil art and tagging that adorns most walls. The identity is very much about an expression of ‘place’ and as such utilises a custom stencil typeface which can be dressed up for serious business or dressed down for casual fun, spray stenciled on walls or dissected to create intricate patterns.

Fully self-managed, the website utilises proprietary technologies to scale and optimise images through the Content Management System (CMS) simplifying and streamlining client updates. The site is also built to conform to multiple tablet formats and serves as an essential mobile presentation tool.

Volume Audio Stores Website

The Visua team have recently designed an exciting new brand identity for an Australian chain of high-end audio stores. The project entailed the generation of a new company name and the rebranding of an established leading retail business from the ground up. Previously called Just Klapp, the business has totally reinvented itself. The name “Volume” expresses the core essence of the new business direction and helps position the company within the mainstream retail market. Our team worked closely with interior designers to ensure the new brand vision was realised across all aspects of the business. The website is designed to be wholly managed by the client, allowing them the freedom to update the site, feature new products, highlight store promotions and track consumer buying trends, quickly and easily.

Lynton Crabb Photography

Mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad do not currently support Adobe Flash based websites, this left Lynton Crabb Photography at a distinct disadvantage when it came to marketing their business. The previous Flash based website didn’t give them the flexibility to easily update components within the site. The new html site utilises a sophisticated Content Management System that automatically optimises photographs as they are uploaded and gives absolute freedom to tailor the website as desired. Another feature is the integrated lightbox which enables visitors to the site to short list photographs and then download the selected images as a PDF document. Visit www.crabb.com.au

Melbourne Water, Sustainability Report

The Sustainability Report for Melbourne Water took a different approach to typical annual reporting. Rather than showcasing the business’ physical aspects, their greatest asset, ‘their people’ were featured throughout the document. Twelve individuals told their stories highlighting amazing achievements and tireless contributions to Melbourne’s water supply infrastructure. From fighting the ‘Black Saturday’ bushfires to proactively initiating a review of the business’ paper usage and implementing change to saving money and helping the environment. The report was developed as an online and environmentally friendly printed document. See the printed report in the ‘Publications’ section of our website.

APM Group

The APM Group is a Melbourne based commercial construction company which services the second tier commercial construction market. Following Visua’s successful rebrand of the business we were asked to develop a website that showcases their achievements from the past twenty years. To establish a cohesive look and feel we enlisted the talents of Derek Swalwell, one of Melbourne’s leading architecture and interior photographers, to document the majority of completed projects. The website was designed to be minimalist in nature, allowing the work to be the centrepiece. It was implemented utilising Flash, enabling simple transitions and subtle animation.

WaterAid 2009 Ball, Event Website

WaterAid is an international non-government organisation whose mission is to provide safe water, hygiene and sanitation to the world’s poorest communities. Our Creative Director Gary Domoney was extremely excited at the opportunity to contribute by developing the collateral promoting the Melbourne 2009 WaterAid Ball, a gala event held at the Melbourne Convention Centre. A highly interactive motion-based Flash website reinforced the event’s circus theme and was designed and implemented months prior to the event to help gain awareness. A ringmaster greets you and introduces you to the different website sections adorned with acrobats, fire breathers and tigers. The site provided a portal for event details and the facility for purchasing tickets online.

Ryco Filters

Visua have partnered with Ryco Filters for more than nine years. Having rebranded the business, repackaged their entire product line and developed numerous above and below the line marketing campaigns. Our expertise in brand management has helped Ryco deploy a cohesive and consistent brand message. Ryco’s principle marketing tool is their product catalogue. Working closely with Ryco, the catalogue was transformed from a bulky printed document into a user friendly online portal with search and cross reference capabilities, all integrated seamlessly into their website. This in turn enabled product information to be accessed globally by individuals and professionals, drastically reducing printed document quantities.
